parents
Mastro Montessori has many traditions designed to bring together our community throughout the year.
We believe that our teachers and parents work best as a team to support our students both at home and in the classroom. All of our events celebrate our students and their accomplishments in the joys of daily life.
In addition to community-building events, the school regularly hosts Parent Education workshops. Parents are also invited to observe their children in the classroom at various points during the year. For over 50 years, Mastro Montessori’s mission has been to create an environment for children that cultivates courtesy, acceptance, caring, and compassion. These traditions connect the Mastro community of families, staff, and alumni —past and present.
MASTRO parent ASSOCIATION
The Mastro Parent Association (MPA) is a parent volunteer organization that will work directly with the Mastro Montessori Academy Administration as well as members of the Board of Trustees. An MPA executive team consisting of both parents and staff members is chosen by our community to support Mastro Montessori in its goals and vision.
The mission of the MPA is to support, preserve, and expand the sense of community at Mastro Montessori Academy as one that is warm, welcoming, and inclusive. Head of School Search
Head of School Update: June 2026
Over the last several months, Mastro Montessori’s Board of Trustees has been engaged in a thorough, inclusive, and thoughtful Head of School search process grounded in listening, reflection, and a clear understanding of Mastro’s current needs and future aspirations. With the guidance of Educators Collaborative, a professional search firm, a Search Committee, representing multiple perspectives within the community, conducted an extensive review of candidates. These candidates possessed skill sets and experience that align with the Leadership Profile, which was the guiding document that was born from the perspectives of all stakeholders at the very beginning of the process.
Following multiple rounds of interviews, community engagement with finalists, and careful and deep deliberation, the Search Committee unanimously recommended its top candidate. The Board of Trustees, in turn, voted unanimously to affirm that recommendation.
We are pleased to announce that Gina Dorozynski has accepted the role of Head of School,
effective July 2, 2026.
Gina brings a deep and sustained commitment to early childhood education and to the development of the whole child. Over the course of her career as a teacher, instructional coach, school leader and Principal, she has focused on creating environments that support independence, curiosity, and respect for each child’s developmental path. She is known for her ability to support teachers, partner with families, and lead with steadiness and care.
At this moment in Mastro’s history, the school community collectively identified strong, steady leadership and a deep respect for Montessori principles as essential priorities for the Head of School role. Gina’s approach aligns closely with these needs. She approaches Montessori education with humility, respect, and a clear commitment to continued learning.
As part of that commitment, Gina is stepping into the role of Head of School after having completed the rigorous AMI School Leadership Certificate Course. The Board has also engaged an experienced AMI expert mentor/coach to support Gina throughout her first year as Mastro’s head. The Board is confident that this intentional investment, together with her extensive experience in early childhood education and her demonstrated school leadership, positions her well to lead Mastro with integrity and purpose. Throughout the search process, Gina distinguished herself through her warmth, professionalism, and grounded leadership presence. She is fully committed to immersing herself in Mastro’s Montessori culture and to working in close partnership with faculty to support the school’s continued strength and growth.
On behalf of the Board of Trustees, we extend sincere gratitude to the members of the Search Committee for their dedication and care, and to the entire community for your engagement throughout this process.
The faculty of Mastro Montessori Academy are at the heart of the school. Their dedication to Montessori principles and to the children they serve is the foundation of Mastro’s excellence. With their partnership, Gina will be well supported as she begins her journey with Mastro Montessori Academy.
The path ahead is one we will shape with clarity of purpose, mutual respect, and a shared commitment to the well-being of every child.
Please join us in welcoming Gina Dorozynski as the next Head of School!
